NVCA was established in 2010 in Anthem, AZ. Originally housed with the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Anthem, it moved to temporary facilities in West Anthem until relocating to its newly constructed campus just south of Anthem in August 2017. The school facilities were expressly built to support a 21 st Century learning model delivered in a Christ-centered environment – flexible classrooms, state-of- the-art technology, and modern facilities such as a full gymnasium, cafeteria, music room, worship/arts center, and more. NVCA is fully accredited by AdvancEd and NLSA.
Associated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), NVCA is a Christ-centered community committed to the spiritual development and academic growth of students from preschool through high school. NVCA’s caring staff and faculty are committed to the spiritual development of students, recognizing individual needs in the process of their spiritual and intellectual growth. The staff enthusiastically embraces the challenge of mentoring students to achieve their academic potential based upon a curriculum grounded in biblical truth and values.
NVCA supports a learning model that recognizes individual differences in how students learn but practices accountability for achieving their educational goals. NVCA is dedicated to equipping students with critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and emotional intelligence.
Education at North Valley Christian Academy is approached from a biblical perspective that recognizes the sovereignty and authority of God.
A carefully selected curriculum academically challenges lower, middle, and high school students while upholding the Christian standards we seek to develop.
Tradition and Inspiration: Visitors regularly comment on the unique and loving environment at North Valley Christian Academy. Teachers, as Christian educators, are recognized for their caring, nurturing, and loving ways while teaching students about God’s purpose, His love, and His will for their life.
NVCA embraces an advanced platform of technology as a key learning tool for fact-based learning that allows students to do research using the internet and other digital tools. Technology is invaluable to enhancing critical thinking and critical literacy skills. It provides for collaboration and project-based learning among students and teachers. NVCA believes that technology in education provides for creative growth and expression through different mediums and across the entire curriculum.
The appropriate integration of education, learning, and technology is an important component of the well-rounded and specialized academic program at NVCA. Technology integrated throughout our state-of- the-art campus provides and enhances a wealth of learning and teaching opportunities that otherwise would not be possible. Grades 6-12 require students to provide their own suitable device. NVCA provides a list of minimum hardware and software requirements, with recommendations.
The development of healthy emotional intelligence (EQ) and social intelligence (SQ) is an important aspect of a solid program of education. Along with our core education program in the traditional liberal arts, we are committed to the integration of the nationally recognized Core Knowledge curriculum into our overall program of education. Our comprehensive program of education fully prepares students for the 21st century and includes building life, relational, technology, and critical thinking skills. These areas of learning are complemented by opportunities to grow emotionally and artistically in athletics, music, and the fine arts.
NVCA carries accreditation with AdvancEd and the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA). As affiliated members, NVCA has the support of the associations in accreditation for early-education programs and primary and secondary certification of curriculum that prepares students academically to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Accreditation recognizes and validates NVCA’s clear vision and purpose, its commitment to improving the curriculum, the quality of learning and instruction, and continuously improving the experience for all learners to reach their full potential.
