EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP ACCOUNT CHANGES: For students entering K, 1st, 6th or 9th grade you are eligible to receive a scholarship through the new Empowerment Scholarship Account Program for the 2017-2018 school year! This new legislation now makes every child in Arizona eligible and will be phased over the next 4 years, adding more grades per year. There is an enrollment cap so if your child will be entering NVCA in the 2017-2018 school year in K, 1st, 6th, or 9th grade and have done at least 100 days in public or charter school please watch for updates on when applications will be open. It will be first come first serve for all Arizona children. Scholarships amounts have not been released. For more information you can visit http://www.azed.gov/esa/ or contact Lorif@northvalleyca.org for more information. Please remember that students cannot use ESA if receiving ACSTO.
NVCA TRACK TEAM: The NVCA Track team received a certificate of participation for their perseverance and hard work and a small trophy from a fellow team member. The team performed well for the meet, especially since it was the first time for most of the students. Great team, NVCA!
BEST UPDATE: We are so excited to announce that our B.E.S.T program at NVCA is growing! For the upcoming school year, we will be offering a number of new support programs for our students. These new programs range from 1:1 coaching for academic support, half day and full day coaches for academic, behavioral and social support as well as increased training for our staff. Please contact Lori Fox for more information, including volunteer opportunities at LoriF@NorthValleyCA.org.
ACSTO REPORT: We are pleased to share that NVCA had a 32% increase in tax credit donations for our students during this year. This is an increase of $60,252 from last year! We had 98 new tax credit donors during the year as well. The amount raised includes both the amount our parents raise for their children and also what NVCA raises to help fund our students with our financial aid grant program.
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER: Last Thursday, preschool – 8th grade students participated in 4 National Day of Prayer activities. Students prayed for our country, leaders, and military at the flag pole, for our students and families at our prayer wall, created a prayer chain, and prayed to thank God for healing us from our sins and sicknesses. What a special day to spend time praising and praying to the Lord.

The program runs from 8:00-3:00 each day with weeklong sessions from May 30th – July 28th. Before care and after care are available starting at 6:30am and ending at 6:00pm.
