KindnessCONCORDIA UNIVERSITY IRVINE DRAMA TEAM: The Concordia ACTS Drama Team came to our school to share with the 5-8th grade students a message about their theme verse and school. There theme verse this year was Psalm 91:4, ‘He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.’ They put on two funny little shows about a chicken who thought the sky was falling and a pilot afraid of heights and the dark. Afterwards, the 5-8th grade students were able to ask questions about what it is like to be in college. They had so many questions that we didn’t even have time for them all!

Campus Newsletter #222nd GRADE HIGHLIGHT: 2nd grade has a mystery reader program this year to get the kids excited about reading. The Mystery Reader is a parent, guardian, relative, sibling, close friend, teacher, etc. who shares a favorite or well-liked children’s book with the class. The role of the Mystery Reader is to remain anonymous until he/she enters the classroom on the designated reading day, so it is a surprise for all the students. It is such a joy to see how the kids react when the mystery readers arrives. The most precious reactions are the students who are related to the mystery reader. Last week Jesse’s brother Christian surprised the class by reading to us. The class really enjoyed Christian reading “Spiderman” to them.
