Campus Newsletter #20WORKING ON YOUR 2016 TAXES? Don’t forget to take the tax credit! Direct you Arizona tax liability to NVCA  students through the tuition tax credit program. This program enables taxpayers to designate up to $2,134 of their  taxes to cover tuition expenses for our students. In the last four years, over $600,000 in grants and scholarships have  been given to NVCA families. Support our families and take the credit by going online at www.acsto.org.

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP: Last Thursday night we had a fantastic Kindergarten Round Up. Mrs. Frazier shared  how to prepare your child for Kindergarten, what happens during the day, and the joys of working with 5 year olds. If you were unable to attend this meeting, don’t fret, we will have another Kindergarten Round Up in the spring.

CHAPEL OFFERING: Our next chapel offering opportunity for January-February will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank. Please bring in the following items at any time during January and February. The class that brings in the most items or dollars will win a prize!w

  • January 25th: Canned Fruit
  • February 1st: Canned Vegetables

PROMETHEAN BOARD PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Last Friday the preschool-8th grade teachers participated in professional development for Classroom Management and the new Promethean ActivPanel’s that are in  Kindergarten and 5/6th grade classroom. This interactive panel will be used with the Classflow program that will  connect to student devices and allow for the whole class to interact together online. For example, while teaching the  teacher can send out a poll/question to the students as a quick content assessment or understanding check point before moving on with the lesson. The program has thousands of interactive lesson resources available in multiple subject areas for teachers to use right away. A good way to understand the Promethean Board is to think of it as a large interactive computer. These exciting tools will allow learning to come alive in the classrooms and we can’t wait to get  the students engaged.
