1TEACHER RECRUITMENT TEAM UPDATE: We were so thankful to have had an abundance of nursing candidates that we have interviewed over the last few weeks. We are pleased to announce that Virginia Helmer has accepted the position for next year. She is first and foremost a follower of Christ! She is married, has two kids and loves working with children. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Arizona State University. Virginia worked at Mayo Clinic for ten years in the bone marrow transplant department, and for the past two years has worked in an elementary school teaching PE and Kindergarten. She is thrilled to be a part of the NVCA family and can’t wait to get to know you!

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: We congratulate our recent Fruit of the Spirit recipients, Hailey Coberly, Grace Karr, Kamdyn Crossley, Tor Freneaux, Maddie Blaylock, Brody Flowers, Brittan McManis, Andrew Collins, Hannah Ratkovic, Lachelle Long, and Ava Lehman for showing a spirit of gentleness.

2TRACK MEET: Congratulations to the following athletes who competed in the Black Canyon Lutheran Athletic League track meet on April 29: Josh Boadu, Andrew Collins, Jason Cooper, Levi Fenchak, Andy Gandolfo, Lukas Gauharou, Ben Hamack, Emerson Lewis, Mundo Osorio, Johnny Thomas, Valerie Fenchak, Amanda Gandolfo, Tabitha Jensen, Tanalei Mulvanny, and Jaslyn Osorio. They competed with nearly 400 other athletes in the 60 M Dash, 200 M Dash, 800 M Run, 1200 M Run, Softball Throw, Long Jump, and High Jump. They all tried their best, competed hard, and gave glory to God for through their talents. Special congratulations to our ribbon winners: Johnny Thomas – 2nd place – Softball Throw – 3rd-4th Grade Boys, Amanda Gandolfo – 5th place – 60 M Dash – 5th-6th Grade Girls, Andrew Collins – 5th place – 60 M Dash – 3rd-4th Grade Boys, Lukas Gauharou – 4th place – High Jump, 200 M Dash, 1200 M Run – 5th-6th Grade Boys. Thank you also to Kim Cooper and Kevin Jensen who helped Mrs. Jensen with coaching and volunteered at the meet at on Saturday.

3THANK YOU TO THE 4TH GRADE CLASS: Thank you to the 4th grade class and Mrs. Jensen for the wonderful play they put on during last week’s chapel. A great reminder from 1 Peter 1:3, ‘God’s divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises.’

ENROLL NOW FOR OUR SUMMER PRESCHOOL PROGRAM: Information can be picked up in the school office or from one of the preschool classrooms. The program runs from 8:00-3:00 each day with weeklong sessions from May 30th – July 28th. Before care and after care are available starting at 6:30am and ending at 6:00pm.

4CHAPEL OFFERING: The Dollar Challenge for the Phoenix Rescue Mission has increased to $1,038.76! These students are truly amazing. Thank you for helping support the Phoenix Rescue Mission and St. Mary’s Food Bank this year.
