1TEACHER RECRUITMENT TEAM UPDATE: After reading through dozens of resumes and interviewing many teacher candidates, the team is excited to share that the current plan (subject to change) for our teaching staff in Kindergarten – 4th grade is listed below. The 5th- 10th grade classes will be departmentalized. More information to come on preschool, middle school, and high school.

Kindergarten: Mrs. Cathy Frazier
1st Grade: Mrs. Christi McCrory
2nd Grade: Mrs. Lisa Upper (See below)
3rd Grade: Ms. Kaylee Collin
4th Grade: Ms. Christina Grace

Mrs. Lisa Upper is excited to join our mission here at NVCA. She has a strong foundation in the Lord Jesus Christ and desires to share that with her students and families. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Wake Forest University, a Master’s Degree in School Administration and a Master’s Degree of Library and Information Science from the University of North Carolina. Her leadership skills have placed her in a variety of roles from classroom teacher, to media specialist, to drama director, and to administration. We are thankful that she has accepted the 2nd grade position for next year.

2THANK YOU 2ND GRADERS for your skit about kindness in chapel this week. It was a great reminder to us all, especially after celebrating Easter! Ephesians 2:8, ‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.’

GREAT JOB NVCA LIONS BASKETBALL TEAM Sports Kidz presented medals to the Kindergarten – 4th grade basketball players during chapel last week. They worked hard during practice and the tournament while learning about the character trait of respect. Good hustle!

NVCA SHARK TANK:
Our very own 4-6th grade students participated in a mock Shark Tank experience. The students were divided into teams to work together to create a product that people would want to buy. The products ranged from therapeutic putty to organization tools. What a great experience! Thank you to our wonderful judges!

ENROLL NOW FOR OUR SUMMER PRESCHOOL PROGRAM:
Information can be picked up in the school office or from one of the preschool classrooms. The program runs from 8:00-3:00 each day with weeklong sessions from May 30th – July 28th. Before care and after care are available starting at 6:30am and ending at 6:00pm.

3CHAPEL OFFERING: The Dollar Challenge for the Phoenix Rescue Mission has increased to $948.00! These students are truly amazing. Thank you for helping support the Phoenix Rescue Mission and St. Mary’s Food Bank this year.
